One River Kids Art classes are built around our unique, project-based curriculum that celebrates artists and techniques from the last 50 years. Kids Art Shuffle (Grades K-2)
Students engage in art making through creative projects that stimulate imagination and help develop important artistic techniques and observational skills. Our project-based approach allows students to learn drawing, painting and sculpture through subject matter that is fun and engaging. Diverse projects inspire students by drawing on examples from the most important artists and artworks from the contemporary art world.
Kids Focus on Making
Focus on Making is designed for students interested in exploring tangible art media and sculpture – from clay, plaster and wire to printmaking and collage in both two and three dimensional forms. Young artists will explore in depth the concepts of sculpting in the round, relief sculpture, assemblage, collage, carving, coil building, casting and printmaking. Instructors provide demonstrations of various sculpting methods and processes while referencing the works of inspiring artists amongst Rose Eken, Noam Rappaport, Joanne Greenbaum, Alexander Ross, Dan McCarthy, and more.
