Street Art Painting

The recent street-art movement marked by artists like Banksy has placed graffiti on the map and grown to be a respected creative outlet. In this camp, students will study graffiti as a base for making their own street-art paintings. Students will work on large-scale panels using acrylic and spray paint.
  • Learn how to use spray paint, acrylic paint, and paint markers
  • Experiment with creating your own stencil
  • Complete one large scale painting

Sticker Studio

Create your own character design that will be turned into a sticker which can be easily applied to novelty items, bags, shirts etc. Students will develop their own original character from their favorite manga comic. The completed digital drawings will be printed as custom stickers.
  • We will learn Adobe Photoshop and how to use layers to keep our work organized
  • Demonstrate use of line weights and different brush textures and effects
  • Complete a digital drawing that you can share with friends in the form of a sticker

Pour Painting

Experiment with the various properties of acrylic paint as you become a little chemist!  Explore this popular paint application while learning about color theory, layering, and creating abstract art.
  • Learn techniques such as “the bloom effect,” ribboning, flip-cup and dirty pour 
  • Experiment with paint mediums to create different textures and paint reactions
  • Create a series of acrylic flow paintings that demonstrate the new techniques you have learned

One Artwork a Day: Art Explorers

  • Bring home 4+ mini projects at the end of camp

iPad Painting

Learn to paint on your iPad with this introductory camp to the program Procreate. Students will explore a series of illustrations designed to walk through the essentials of Procreate. This class is designed for beginners to develop a foundational understanding of the program and discover unique skills to aid them in their future digital paintings!
  • Learn to use Procreate on an iPad
  • Explore methods of rendering characters, digital painting and even animation!
  • Create a small collection of work to get you started!
*Students are required to provide their own iPad, Apple Pencil, and Procreate App in order to participate in this camp.

Learn to Draw: The Portrait

Students will learn the foundations of drawing and become familiar with the graphite medium. This camp will teach students how to render the human eye, nose, and mouth naturalistically.
  • Learn how to use graphite pencils, blending stumps and kneaded erasers
  • Demonstrate how to draw realistic features in correct proportions
  • Complete one portrait drawing

Chibi Characters

In this manga-inspired cartooning camp we will create our own “chibi” characters! These are super cute characters of people or animals that have been shrunken into funny, childlike creatures with big heads, big eyes and silly expressions!
  • In chibi characters, emotion comes from the eyes! So we will focus our attention on creating eyes that tell their emotions and story
  • Learn to use illustration markers and watercolor paint
  • Create 4-5 characters inspired by your imagination, your family, your friends or your favorite tv-show

How to Draw Your Dragon

Enter a world of soaring creatures, swirling smoke trails, and untamed dragons! In this dynamic drawing camp, students design their very own dragons. Inspired by a wide range of dragon species found in fantasy stories, campers learn how to bring these legendary creatures to life.
  • Learn how to use colored pencils, metallic markers and gel pens 
  • Practice creating patterns, textures and layering
  • Create a finished drawing of your original dragon

Kawaii Creations

Cute! Adorable! Lovable! Charming!… Kawaii! Kawaii is the culture of cuteness in Japan and in this camp we will be making all things cute! To make our digital Kawaii characters we will look at inspiration from popular Japanese cartoons while learning how to create a silhouette, distinct facial features and texture for our original characters.
  • We will learn how to use Adobe Photoshop to create our characters
  • Learn how to draw proper proportions to ensure the kawaii-style
  • Create 4-5 characters inspired by food, animals and objects

Cartoon Your Life

In this camp, students will learn and combine aspects of realistic figure drawing with cartooning basics. Students will first gain an understanding of the anatomy of the human figure and then transform those characteristics into a self-portrait with cartoon specific proportions, which will become a moveable figure inserted into three personalized scenes from the artist's life. 
  • Demonstrate the understanding of a figure in motion through gesture drawing
  • Learn to use microns, illustration markers and watercolor paint
  • Complete an interactive drawing with your cartoon self

Street Art Painting: Tag, You’re It

Students will learn the fundamentals of graffiti lettering as they craft a unique tag that expresses their personal style. Through hands-on guidance and bold experimentation, they will transform their sketches into vibrant street-art–inspired designs.  Students will work on large-scale panels using acrylic and spray paint.
  • Learn how to use spray paint, acrylic paint, and paint markers
  • Experiment with creating your own lettering
  • Complete one large scale painting

Learn to Draw: Animals

Let’s go wild!  In this camp students will explore how to customize different brushes and settings to create an original and realistic animal digital drawing.This class is designed for beginners to develop a foundational understanding of the program and discover unique skills to aid them in their future digital paintings!
  • Learn the basics of Procreate to gather brushes and reference images 
  • Demonstrate how to create proper proportions and realistic anatomy drawings
  • Explore the use of layers to create texture and tones 
*Students are required to provide their own iPad, Apple Pencil, and Procreate App in order to participate in this camp.

Fashion Lab

Fuse the world of fashion and art through this camp, creating original digital designs and illustrations. Students will practice technical aspects of design such as composition and pattern while cultivating their originality through conceptual thinking. Students will borrow inspiration from today’s trends to create designs that demonstrate their individual tastes and styles and learn how to draw the figure for fashion as well as illustration techniques used in the fashion industry.
  • Learn how to Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Demonstrate how to design fashion illustrations with digital tools to create patterns, textures and motifs
  • Complete three fully rendered final outcomes including hair and accessories

Plushie Pals

Make your very own personalized mini plush to clip to your backpack and proudly show off! Students design and sew their very own stuffed animal keychain, choosing colors, shapes, and adorable details.

Let’s go wild! Learning to draw realistically is a crucial and fundamental skill for any aspiring artist. Students will study various animal anatomies to help them create accurate, proportionate, and to scale drawings of their favorite animals!
  • Learn how to draw with graphite and pastel
  • Demonstrate how to create proper proportions and realistic anatomy drawings
  • Complete one graphite and one pastel animal drawing

Creature Feature

Create your own large scale creature sculpture inspired by folklore, sci-fi, mythology or your own imagination! Students will complete a plaster wrap sculpture that they can paint and enhance to bring their vision to life.
  • Learn how to sculpt with plaster wrap
  • Create a large scale armature with found objects
  • Use a variety of media including paint, glue, and other embellishments

  • Practice rendering fabrics and drawing garments on the fashion figure
